Centerville throws one of Davis County’s great hometown celebrations every July — and in 2026 it doubles as a salute to America’s 250th birthday. The Freedom Festival fills Main Street and Community Park with two days of parades, music, and fireworks, and the fun keeps rolling all month. Here’s what’s happening, when, and where, straight from official sources.

Fireworks Rules in Centerville for 2026

No personal fireworks are allowed in Centerville July 2–5, 2026. South Davis Metro Fire Administration, together with Centerville, Bountiful, West Bountiful, Woods Cross, and North Salt Lake, adopted a private fireworks ban through July 5 in line with Governor Cox’s recommendation, after evaluating fire conditions, resource demands, and heightened wildfire risk (official city notice).

  • The ban does not affect the professional shows in North Salt Lake and West Bountiful on July 3 or Centerville on July 4, which are monitored by pre-positioned fire crews.
  • To report illegal fireworks (no active fire or injury), call non-emergency dispatch at 801-298-6000 — not 911.
  • Violations may bring significant fines and financial liability for property damage.
  • Before the Pioneer Day discharge window later this month, check the Davis County fireworks restriction map and the Utah State Fire Marshal’s page for current guidance.

Pioneer Day (July 24) in and Near Centerville

Centerville hasn’t announced a city-run Pioneer Day event for 2026 — check the community events calendar and centervilleutah.gov for any late additions. The good news: one of Utah’s biggest Pioneer Day traditions is next door in Bountiful. Handcart Days runs July 24–25, with park activities and a free concert Friday evening at Bountiful City Park, a 9:00 a.m. parade down Bountiful Main Street on Saturday, July 25, and fireworks at 10:00 p.m. at Mueller Park Junior High.
