West Bountiful Utah July 2026: 4th of July, Pioneer Day & Summer Events Guide
July 2026 is a once-in-a-generation month for West Bountiful. America turns 250 this Fourth of July weekend, and this close-knit Davis County community is marking the milestone the way it does best — with a full night of carnival rides, food trucks, live music, and a professional fireworks show at City Park. Here’s everything happening in and around West Bountiful this July, plus what you need to know about this year’s fireworks rules before you light a single sparkler.
4th of July in West Bountiful
West Bountiful celebrates a day early this year, turning Friday night into the community party of the summer:
- Independence Day Celebration — Friday, July 3, 2026 at West Bountiful City Park (550 W 1600 N)
- Carnival opens at 5 p.m.
- Food trucks from 6–10 p.m.
- Free live concert from 8–10 p.m.
- Professional fireworks show at 10 p.m.
- Details: West Bountiful City
The city’s professional show is one of the few displays going forward in south Davis County this weekend, and fire crews will be pre-positioned on site to monitor it, according to KUTV. Looking for something on July 4 itself? Centerville’s professional show lights up Saturday night, and you can find the full county-wide lineup in the Fourth of July 2026 Davis County guide.
Fireworks Rules This Year: Leave It to the Pros
This is not a normal fireworks year in Utah. On June 25, Gov. Spencer Cox announced temporary statewide fireworks restrictions through July 5 amid one of the most severe wildfire seasons in state history. Cities could designate limited "safe zones" — and per reporting from KUTV and the Deseret News/KSL, West Bountiful is among the Davis County cities where personal fireworks are prohibited this holiday, with no safe zones announced.
Violations can bring fines up to $1,000, plus liability for firefighting costs if a device sparks a blaze. Before lighting anything, check the city’s current restriction information at wbcityut.gov and the Utah State Fire Marshal’s 2026 restrictions page. The best seat in town is a lawn chair at the July 3 professional show.
Pioneer Day: July 24
West Bountiful hasn’t announced a city-run Pioneer Day event for 2026, but the area’s biggest celebration is right next door. Bountiful’s Handcart Days — a tradition more than 75 years strong — runs the Pioneer Day weekend:
- Friday, July 24 — Food, games, and activities at Bountiful City Park (400 N 200 W), with an evening concert
- Saturday, July 25 — Morning races (1K, 5K, and half marathon), the Handcart Days parade at 9 a.m. on Bountiful Main Street, park activities through the afternoon, and an evening fireworks show
- Full schedule and confirmed times: handcartdays.org
One note: state officials say they’ll evaluate wildfire conditions before deciding whether fireworks restrictions are needed for the Pioneer Day window, so watch for updates as July 24 approaches.
