Bountiful Utah July 2026: 4th of July, Pioneer Day & Summer Events Guide
July in Bountiful is something special — and this year it comes with a once-in-a-generation milestone as America marks its 250th birthday. From neighborhood parades and park concerts to the beloved Handcart Days later in the month, Bountiful’s calendar is full of ways to celebrate together. Here’s your guide to the holiday weekend, Pioneer Day, and everything in between, with the community spirit this city is known for.
4th of July in and Around Bountiful
Bountiful saves its own big fireworks show for Handcart Days on July 25, but Independence Day options are minutes away in every direction:
- Centerville Freedom Festival — Saturday, July 4 — Parade on Main Street at 9:00 a.m. (flyover at 8:38 a.m.), Party in the Park at Community Park (1350 N 400 W) from 10 a.m.–10 p.m., headliner Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band at 8:30 p.m., and fireworks at 9:45 p.m. Details: centervilleutah.gov
- Professional fireworks shows nearby — Friday, July 3 — South Davis Metro Fire confirms professional shows in North Salt Lake and West Bountiful on July 3, monitored by pre-positioned fire crews (source). Local listings report West Bountiful’s celebration begins with a carnival around 5 p.m. at the city park (550 W 1600 N) with fireworks near 10 p.m. — check the city’s channels for final details.
- County-wide roundups — See the Deseret News fireworks guide for more shows along the Wasatch Front.
Fireworks Rules in Bountiful for 2026
This is important this year: personal fireworks are not allowed in Bountiful July 2–5, 2026. South Davis Metro Fire Administration, together with Bountiful, Centerville, West Bountiful, Woods Cross, and North Salt Lake, adopted a private fireworks ban through July 5 in line with Governor Cox’s recommendation, citing local fire conditions and heightened wildfire risk (official notice via Centerville City).
- Professional, fire-crew-monitored shows are not affected by the ban.
- To report illegal fireworks (no active fire or injury), call non-emergency dispatch at 801-298-6000 — not 911.
- Violations may bring significant fines and financial liability for property damage.
- Rules can change with conditions — before the Pioneer Day discharge window, check the Davis County fireworks restriction map and the Utah State Fire Marshal’s restrictions page for current guidance.
Pioneer Day: Handcart Days, July 24–25
Bountiful’s signature summer tradition turns Main Street and City Park into a two-day celebration. The 2026 theme is “Faith & Freedom” (handcartdays.org):
- Friday, July 24 — Park activities 5:00–9:00 p.m. (concessions until 9:30 p.m.) at Bountiful City Park, with a free concert by Jenny Oaks Baker & Family Four, 8:00–9:30 p.m. at the park pavilion.
- Saturday, July 25 — Handcart Days races early morning (via the South Davis Recreation Center); the Handcart Days Parade at 9:00 a.m. along Bountiful Main Street — billed by organizers as Utah’s second-largest parade; park activities 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Saturday, July 25, 10:00 p.m. — Bountiful City’s annual fireworks show at Mueller Park Junior High (details).
Parade tip: chairs may not be placed along the route before 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 24 unless someone is sitting in them.
