West Point History
The westernmost point of Davis County • Named 1910
James Hale was the first permanent settler in the 1860s, in a place first called South Hooper and then Muskrat Springs. The name “West Point” was adopted on May 29, 1910 — suggested at a church meeting because the community sat at the westernmost point of Davis County. The town incorporated October 14, 1935.
