Farmington’s calendar is packed this July — and the timing couldn’t be better, with America celebrating its 250th birthday on July 4, 2026. The city’s beloved Festival Days takes over Forbush Park and Main Street the week after the Fourth, Pioneer Day brings a long weekend on July 24, and the community spirit is unmistakable all month. Here’s everything happening in Farmington this July, with dates, times, and sources so you can plan with confidence.

4th of July in Farmington

Farmington saves its biggest hometown bash for Festival Days, held July 6–11, 2026 — an annual event the city describes as "celebrating our country and our amazing community." Highlights confirmed on the city’s official page:

  • Pickleball Tournament — Tuesday–Friday, July 7–10 (multiple divisions, morning and evening sessions), Farmington courts. Check-in 30 minutes early.
  • High Fitness — Wednesday, July 8, 10:00 AM, Farmington Gymnasium, 294 S 650 W ($2 entry).
  • Chalk Art Festival — begins Wednesday, July 8, 5:00–11:00 PM (check-in 5:00–7:00 PM), continuing through the week; winners announced Saturday about 12:30 PM at the main stage. Cash prizes this year.
  • Saturday, July 11 — the big day:
    • 7:00 AM | Farmington 5K/10K (registration)
    • 7:30–9:00 AM | Breakfast in the Park, Forbush Park ($7 per person, $30 family of 5)
    • 10:00 AM | Festival Days Parade through downtown Farmington
    • 11:00 AM | Events at Forbush Park — entertainment, food trucks, vendors, farmers market, petting zoo and pony rides (12:00–4:00 PM), plus the Car Show on Main Street
    • Evening | Concert at the main stage (check the city page for the 2026 lineup)
    • Dusk (about 10:00 PM) | Fireworks finale — a professional show, which is permitted under this year’s statewide order

On July 4 itself, Farmington doesn’t host a separate city celebration, but professional fireworks shows and parades run throughout Davis County — see Discover Davis and the Deseret News fireworks guide.

Fireworks Rules in Farmington for 2026

This is not a normal fireworks year. Citing historic wildfire conditions, Gov. Spencer Cox issued a temporary executive order placing a default statewide restriction on personal fireworks through July 5, 2026, with cities allowed to designate limited discharge areas.

  • Farmington has long-standing local restrictions as well — city code prohibits fireworks east of the mapped restriction line and near combustible vegetation, with discharge historically limited to specifically designated areas. See the Farmington Fire Department (non-emergency: 801-451-2842).
  • As of this writing, we have not confirmed whether Farmington designated any 2026 discharge areas under the governor’s order. Check the city’s current restriction map and the Utah State Fire Marshal’s 2026 list before lighting any firework.
  • Professional shows — like the Festival Days finale — are not affected by the order.

Pioneer Day: July 24, 2026

Pioneer Day lands on a Friday this year. Farmington has not announced a separate city-run Pioneer Day event — watch the city’s special events page — but the county’s marquee tradition is close by:

  • Bountiful Handcart Days — Friday–Saturday, July 24–25, 2026. The 76th annual celebration, themed "Faith and Freedom" to honor the 1847 pioneers and America’s 250th anniversary, with park activities, a major Main Street parade, and fireworks (Davis Journal).
  • The statewide fireworks order is expected to be reassessed before the Pioneer Day holiday — re-check restrictions in late July.
