Clinton Utah July 2026: 4th of July, Pioneer Day & Summer Events Guide

July 2026 is a milestone month in Clinton and across Davis County — America turns 250 this Independence Day, and the whole county is celebrating. Clinton threw its big hometown party early this year with Heritage Days in June, but there’s still plenty for Clinton families to enjoy this month, from neighboring-city parades on the Fourth to Pioneer Day traditions on July 24. Here’s your guide, with the community spirit turned all the way up.

4th of July in Clinton

Clinton’s signature summer celebration, Heritage Days, ran June 8–13, 2026, and wrapped up with the city’s parade (Saturday, June 13, 10:00 AM, lineup at 1800 N. 1000 W.) and a fireworks finale (June 13, 9:45 PM, Civic Center Park). That means Clinton’s city-run festivities are already in the books for the year — but Independence Day fun is minutes away in every direction.

  • Saturday, July 4, 2026 — Neighboring celebrations across Davis County. Nearby cities including Clearfield, Layton, West Point, and Kaysville traditionally host parades, park festivals, and professional fireworks shows on the Fourth. Check Discover Davis’s Independence Day roundup and each city’s website for confirmed 2026 times before you go.
  • Statewide event guides from Deseret News and ABC4 list professional fireworks and drone shows in every Utah county, including Davis.

Fireworks Rules in Clinton for 2026

This year is different, so please read carefully. Citing extreme wildfire conditions, Gov. Spencer Cox issued a temporary executive order placing a default statewide restriction on personal fireworks through July 5, 2026, while allowing mayors and fire chiefs to designate areas where fireworks may still be discharged.

  • Clinton City posted a Public Notice of Executive Order 2026-01 on June 26, 2026, designating areas of the city where personal fireworks are permitted. Clinton Mayor Marie Dougherty and Fire Chief Jason Poulsen said the city lifted the default restriction "for the majority of Clinton," as reported by Utah News Dispatch and FOX 13.
  • Before lighting anything, check the exact boundaries in the signed city order and the Utah State Fire Marshal’s 2026 restricted areas page — restrictions can change quickly with conditions.
  • Rules differ city to city this year. Many neighboring communities are keeping the full restriction in place, so never assume what’s legal in Clinton is legal one street over.

Pioneer Day: July 24, 2026

Pioneer Day falls on a Friday this year, making for a festive long weekend. Clinton has not announced a city-run Pioneer Day event — check the city calendar for updates — but Davis County’s biggest Pioneer Day tradition is a short drive south:

  • Bountiful Handcart Days — Friday–Saturday, July 24–25, 2026. Now in its 76th year with the theme "Faith and Freedom," honoring both the pioneers of 1847 and the nation’s 250th anniversary. Expect park activities, food, live music, the famous Main Street parade, and a fireworks show. Details from the Davis Journal.
  • Note: the statewide fireworks order is expected to be reassessed ahead of the Pioneer Day holiday — check current restrictions again before July 24.
