Layton Utah July 2026: 4th of July, Pioneer Day & Summer Events Guide
Layton knows how to do summer. Between Liberty Days on the Fourth, free concerts under the stars at the Kenley Amphitheater, and one of Utah’s most unique Pioneer Day traditions — a glowing Electric Light Parade at 10 p.m. — Layton Commons Park becomes the beating heart of Davis County all month long. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year, July 2026 in Layton is one for the memory books. Here’s the full rundown.
4th of July in Layton: Liberty Days
Liberty Days fills Saturday, July 4 from sunrise to fireworks (laytoncityutah.gov):
- Breakfast: 6:30–10 a.m.
- Flag raising ceremony: 8:30 a.m.
- Liberty Days Parade: 10:30 a.m.
- Festivities at Layton Commons Park (437 N Wasatch Dr): from noon — food, vendors, and family activities.
- Free concert at the Kenley Amphitheater: 8 p.m.
- Fireworks: 10 p.m. over Layton Commons Park.
One important note from the city: personal fireworks are not allowed in the park during Liberty Days — leave them home and enjoy the professional show.
Fireworks Rules in Layton for 2026
Layton City published its 2026 fireworks information and restrictions in late May (official city news post). Personal fireworks are only permitted in approved areas and on state-permitted dates, and the city maintains an interactive 2026 restriction map showing exactly where discharge is and isn’t allowed. Rather than guess, plug in your address before you light anything — restrictions can tighten quickly in a dry year like this one, and the Governor’s statewide executive order has already prompted several Davis County cities to go further. The city also links the state’s sale and discharge dates and the State Fire Marshal’s safety tips.

Layton & America 250
This year’s Liberty Days falls on the nation’s semiquincentennial — 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. Statewide, America250 Utah has organized a year of commemoration: America’s Potluck invites neighborhoods to share a meal on Sunday, July 5, 2026; the Walk250 Utah challenge wraps up this month; and the new Museum of Utah opens on Capitol Hill this year. Layton’s flag raising, parade, and packed Commons Park are exactly the kind of hometown celebration the anniversary is all about.
From the morning flag raising on the Fourth to the last float of the Electric Light Parade on the 24th, Layton’s July is packed with community spirit.
