This Week in North Salt Lake: Wild Rose Trail Cleanup, Council Meeting, Zombie Chase Signups (Oct 3–11)
North Salt Lake’s week runs from a Saturday morning on the trails to a Tuesday night at City Hall, with a couple of October events to sign up for now. Here is what the city has posted on its calendar and news page.
Saturday, Oct. 3: Wild Rose Trail cleanup
The NSL Trails Committee is hosting a volunteer morning from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Wild Rose Trailhead Park. The plan is trail improvements and installing new trail signs. Bring gloves and branch cutters if you have them; the city says other tools, water and snacks will be provided.
Tuesday, Oct. 6: City Council meeting
The City Council meets Tuesday, Oct. 6, at City Hall, 10 E. Center St., with a work session at 6 p.m. and the regular session at 7 p.m. As of this writing the agenda had not yet been posted on the Utah Public Notice Website; it is typically posted the week of the meeting. The Planning Commission’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the same chambers.
Sign up now: Zombie Chase, Oct. 24
Registration is open for the city’s second annual Halloween Spooktacular and Zombie Chase, set for 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Tunnel Springs Park. The fun run covers a 2-mile course where runners carry flag-football-style “lifelines” and try to reach the finish with at least one left after the zombies are released. The race is free, but the city requires advance registration through its website.
