This Week in West Point: Cemetery Cleaning, Council Preview, Fall Festival Ahead (Sept. 28–Oct. 4)
It is a quiet week on West Point’s civic calendar, but a few dates are worth marking now, and several bigger items are lining up for early October. Here is what the city has posted.
Cemetery cleaning on Thursday
West Point City’s 2026 calendar lists a cemetery cleaning on Thursday, Oct. 1. The calendar entry does not spell out what will be removed or at what time. If you have flowers or decorations at the city cemetery, call City Hall at 801-776-0970 before Thursday to ask what families should do.
No council or planning meetings this week
The City Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays, so its next meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 6, at City Hall, 3200 W. 300 N. The Planning Commission’s next date on the city calendar is Thursday, Oct. 8.
A tentative list of upcoming items in the council’s Sept. 15 meeting packet shows the Oct. 6 administrative session is expected to include a strategic planning update, a discussion of a boundary adjustment with Clinton City and a discussion of changes to residential driveway standards. The city says that list is for planning only and can change. The official agenda is posted to the Utah Public Notice Website a few days before each meeting.
Still waiting on Sept. 15 results
At its Sept. 15 meeting, the council was scheduled to consider a lower sewer impact fee for the northwest annexation area, a federal-for-state funding swap with UDOT for the 300 North and 700 South road projects, and a Davis County-funded trail along 4000 West. Approved minutes for that meeting have not been posted yet, so the outcomes are not confirmed. We will report them once the official record is available.
