This Week in Woods Cross: Fall Clean Up, Pumpkins in the Park, Council Meeting (Oct 5–11)

Woods Cross has a full week of city activities, from a Monday evening clean-up at Public Works to a free pumpkin night at Lower Mills Park on Saturday. Here is what the city has posted for Oct. 5 to 11.

On the calendar

Fall Clean Up, Monday, Oct. 5, 4 to 8 p.m. The city calendar lists the clean-up at Public Works and links a flyer with the details of what is accepted. Check the flyer before loading your truck.

Senior Lunch, Thursday, Oct. 8, noon to 2:30 p.m. The city lists the monthly senior lunch on its calendar; see the event page for the menu and location.

Pumpkins in the Park, Saturday, Oct. 10, 5 to 8 p.m. This longtime city tradition at Lower Mills Park offers food, games and a pumpkin contest. All activities are free, and you can bring a painted or carved pumpkin to enter for a chance at a prize. Concessions are for sale, and the city says cash and credit cards are accepted but Venmo is not.

Meetings

The Woods Cross City Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, in person and by Zoom. The agenda and Zoom link are posted on the city’s Agenda Center. The Planning Commission is scheduled for Oct. 13.

Around town

The city has also posted a flu shot clinic for Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the City Hall multipurpose room. Vaccines listed include flu, RSV, Tdap, COVID-19, shingles and pneumonia, with low-cost options for people without insurance. Bring your insurance card, and call 801-525-5020 with questions. Separately, the city is reminding residents who received a mailer about its lead and copper service-line inventory that the EPA requires cities to identify water service line materials.
