Southbound I-15 Closes Overnight Tonight Between Kaysville and Farmington

If you drive I-15 through Davis County tonight, plan around a full overnight closure. According to a UDOT release dated Oct. 1, southbound I-15 between 200 North in Kaysville and Park Lane in Farmington (Exits 328 to 324) will be completely closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, to 6 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.

UDOT says the crews are doing lane striping and installing overhead signs. The work supports the Shepard Lane Improved project, which is building a new interchange at Shepard Lane in Farmington to reduce congestion, improve safety and add pedestrian and bicycle connections.

What was announced

The same release listed a lane reduction on northbound I-15 between North Station Lane and Park Lane in Farmington, from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, to 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, also for lane striping. That one wraps up this morning. Tonight’s southbound closure is the full one.

What the release does not say

The UDOT announcement does not list a detour route for the southbound closure. Drivers who normally use that stretch late on a Saturday, including anyone heading home to Kaysville, Layton or Farmington, may want to check the UDOT Traffic website or app before leaving and allow extra time on surface streets.

UDOT notes that construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change, so the exact timing could shift. The same release also lists closures in other parts of the Wasatch Front, such as ramp work in Salt Lake County beginning Oct. 6, but those fall outside Davis County.
