West Bountiful’s October: Free Rec Center Day, Free Golf, Paul Revere Riders and Trunk or Treat
October is packed on the West Bountiful city calendar, and several events are set up specifically as thank-yous to residents. Here is what the city has posted on its October calendar, in date order.
Oct. 8: Free day at the South Davis Rec Center
The South Davis Recreation Center is holding a West Bountiful Residents Appreciation Day on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. West Bountiful residents get free entry with a driver license or utility bill as proof of residency. Ice skate rentals and room reservations are not included.
Oct. 9: Cowboy Poetry concert
The Arts Council’s fall concert series presents Cowboy Poetry on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, an evening of music, poetry and storytelling featuring local performer Kim McKean. The Arts Council also lists a Nov. 13 holiday concert with Suzie Carter.
Oct. 12: WB Paul Revere Riders
On Monday, Oct. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., residents are invited to line the route for the WB Paul Revere Riders and display complimentary paper lanterns. West Bountiful Elementary students will receive a lantern to decorate, and other residents can pick one up at City Hall starting Oct. 5. City offices are closed that day for Columbus Day.
Oct. 19: Vaccine clinic at City Hall
The city will host a vaccine clinic with the Davis County Health Department at City Hall on Monday, Oct. 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. Check the listing for details.
Oct. 20: Free golf at Lakeside
The city-owned Lakeside Golf Course is holding a Resident Appreciation Day on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Residents can play one free nine-hole round with a cart by showing a driver license or other proof of West Bountiful residency. Tee times open for booking one week in advance by phone at 801-295-1019.
Oct. 31: Trunk or Treat
West Bountiful Police will host a Halloween Trunk or Treat at City Hall on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Why it matters
Several of these are free perks tied to living in West Bountiful, and a few need proof of residency, so keep a license or utility bill handy.
