This Week in South Weber: Quiet Meeting Week, Find the Founders, Youth Council Applications (Sept. 28–Oct. 4)

It is a quiet stretch on South Weber’s civic calendar. Based on the city’s published 2026 meeting schedule, neither the City Council nor the Planning Commission meets between Monday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 4. The council’s fourth-Tuesday meeting already took place on Sept. 22, and its next regular meeting is Oct. 13. Here is what is on the city’s calendar this week and just beyond it.

On the calendar this week

• Justice Court, Thursday, Oct. 1, 4 p.m. South Weber’s Justice Court holds session on the first and third Thursdays, according to the city’s 2026 meeting schedule.
• Youth City Council applications. The city’s homepage is inviting young residents to apply for the Youth City Council through an online application form. No deadline is listed there, so check with City Hall if you have a teen who is interested.
• Recreation accounts. The city is also encouraging residents to set up accounts on its new recreation registration system for Family Activity Center programs and facility rentals.

Looking ahead

• Find the Founders, Tuesday, Oct. 6, 5 to 7 p.m. Part of the city’s America250 celebration, this event invites families to search for historical figures from the nation’s founding at a secret location. Details are on the city’s South Weber 250 page.
• Planning Commission, Thursday, Oct. 8, 6 p.m. No agenda had been posted on the Planning Commission page as of Sept. 26.
• City Council, Tuesday, Oct. 13, 6 p.m. Agendas are posted on the City Council meetings page ahead of each meeting, and meetings stream live on the city’s YouTube channel.
• Veterans Recognition Ceremony and Tree Planting, Nov. 11, at Veterans Memorial Park, also part of South Weber 250.
