4th of July 2026 Around Sunset
Sunset doesn’t stage its own professional fireworks show, but on Saturday, July 4, 2026, several are minutes away. Syracuse City’s fire department published this list of area shows (source):

Fireworks Rules in Sunset for 2026
2026 is a restricted year. On June 25, Governor Cox issued an executive order enacting temporary statewide fireworks restrictions through July 5 due to extreme drought and wildfire danger, while letting cities designate lower-risk areas where legal fireworks may still be used.
News reports indicate the North Davis Fire District (which serves Sunset) designated areas where fireworks are allowed, with restrictions near railroad tracks, trails, and areas of dense brush (ABC4) — but confirm the current restriction map before lighting anything. Check sunsetut.gov, the North Davis Fire District, and the Davis County fire restrictions page. Where permitted, state law limits discharge to 11 AM–11 PM on July 2–5, extended to midnight on July 4 (Utah State Fire Marshal).
Sunset City Fun Days — July 17–18, 2026
The hometown celebration of the year. Sunset City Fun Days is listed for Friday–Saturday, July 17–18, 2026 on the America250 Utah events calendar. The city hadn’t posted the full 2026 schedule at press time, but in recent years Fun Days has included:
- Friday evening — vendor booths and inflatables at Central Park, car cruise at North Park, and a movie in the park at dusk
- Saturday morning — 5K run, community breakfast at the Central Park bowery, and the Fun Days parade along 250 West around 10 AM
- Saturday all day — car show, vendor booths, DJ, and inflatables at Central Park, capped by an evening light show at dusk

Pioneer Day is Friday, July 24, 2026. Sunset hasn’t announced a city event, but options abound:
