This Week in Kaysville: Zone-Change Hearing, 200 North Work, Family Events (Oct. 19–25)
Kaysville’s calendar for the week of October 19–25 is anchored by one public hearing on a proposed zone change, with ongoing road work on 200 North and a pair of Halloween-season family events nearby. Here is what the city has posted, so you can plan around it.
Thursday, Oct. 22: Planning Commission and a zone-change hearing
The Kaysville Planning Commission meets Thursday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 23 E. Center Street. The city has also listed a public hearing for the same evening on a requested zone change for a property at 472 North Main Street (parcel #11-791-0101). The request would change the property from R-1-8 (Single-Family Residential) to GC (General Commercial) with a Mixed-Use (MU) Overlay.
This is a hearing, not a decision. The listing does not say what is planned for the site, and a Planning Commission hearing is one step in the process. Anyone who lives or owns property nearby can use it to learn more and share comments. See the city’s hearing listing and meeting listing; the city also keeps agendas, minutes and videos online.
Ongoing: 200 North reconstruction
Construction on 200 North between 500 East and Country Lane moved to the north side of the road in July, with traffic shifted to the south side. The city’s project update says this setup is expected to stay in place through winter 2026, and that temporary driveway access interruptions and short side-street closures can occur as crews work. Read the city’s 200 North Reconstruction Update for details, and allow extra time if your commute uses this stretch.
Wednesday, Oct. 21: Utah Court Connect in Farmington
The Utah Courts are hosting a conversation about how the courts work and what resources are available to the public, on Wednesday, October 21, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Farmington District Court, 800 West State Street. The event is listed on Kaysville’s calendar, and the listing asks people to register to attend in person. Details are on the city event page.
Friday, Oct. 23: Two family Halloween events nearby
Fable Forest (Fruit Heights): A family-friendly, slightly spooky walk through fairy tales brought to life by local youth, October 23 and 24, 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Gailey Trail, 1105 Nicholls Road. Admission is a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Bountiful Food Pantry. See the event listing.
Weber Basin Water Garden Spooktacular (Layton): A free evening of decorated skeleton scenes, live entertainment and a balloon artist on Friday, October 23, 4:00–8:00 p.m. at the Weber Basin Water Learning Garden, 2837 E. Highway 193. Costumes are encouraged. Details on the event listing.
