This Week in Clearfield: Howl-o-ween, Pumpkin Float, Boonanza (Oct 9–23)
Clearfield’s fall lineup is built around Halloween: a costume party for dogs, the annual Pumpkin Float at Steed Pond, and a Goonies-themed night at the Aquatic & Fitness Center. The city’s fall cleanup voucher is also still good through the end of the month. Here is what Clearfield City has posted for Oct. 9–23.
On the calendar
- Sat., Oct. 17, 4–6 p.m.: Howl-o-ween at Barlow Dog Park. Dogs in costumes are invited for tricks, treats and a party. It is free.
- Mon., Oct. 19, 6–8 p.m.: Clearfield Pumpkin Float at Steed Pond. Families bring a pumpkin carved from the top; the city provides lights and floating mats. The evening also includes an outdoor showing of The Goonies, light refreshments and a pumpkin cannon.
- Fri., Oct. 23, 6–8:30 p.m.: Boonanza: The Goonies at the Clearfield Aquatic & Fitness Center, with games, scares and treats. Everyone entering needs a pass: $5 less per person if you register online by Oct. 22, or $10 per person on Oct. 23 and at the door.
Around town
- Fall cleanup: The city says fall cleanup runs through the end of October. Residents received a voucher for one free dump trip on their utility bill, and vouchers are also available at City Hall during business hours. The voucher must be presented with covered loads.
- All-abilities playground: The city has said the park is nearly finished and will open soon, without giving a date. We covered the project in Clearfield’s all-abilities playground is under construction.
- Fall registration: Sign-ups for city sports and arts programs are open through the city’s online registration site.
