North Salt Lake Council Approves Walker Ridge Townhomes, Dissolves Re-Addressing Committee

North Salt Lake’s City Council voted 5–0 on Oct. 20 to approve the general development plan and rezone for the Walker Ridge Townhomes, and the same meeting dissolved the committee that was set up to study address changes in a recently annexed area.

Walker Ridge Townhomes

The project is eight townhomes at 3533 S. Highway 89, attached to the Gold Mine Acres subdivision. The Planning Commission recommended approval on Oct. 13 after neighbors raised concerns about building height, parking, fire-truck access and backyard privacy. That recommendation came with conditions, including a 35-foot height limit, an 8-foot setback for unit eight and downward-directed lighting.

The council’s motion leaves several details, among them final architecture design and final layout, to be settled when a development agreement is approved. This vote is not the last step.

Re-addressing committee dissolved

Council members also voted 5–0 (Resolution 2026-51R) to dissolve the North Salt Lake Re-Addressing Committee. The meeting record shows debate over address changes in the annexed area, including homes that use Bountiful addresses. Residents with address questions should contact the city directly.

Housing plan and budget

The council approved an update to the moderate-income housing element of the general plan (Resolution 2026-49R) and a code change (Ordinance 2026-09) that lets planned unit developments be used to preserve existing moderate-income housing. It also approved FY 2026–27 budget amendments (Resolution 2026-50R) covering items such as public safety office space, trail master plan work, land acquisition, and road and water-line repairs. All of those votes were 5–0.

Schedule change

The council voted to cancel its regular meeting scheduled for Nov. 4, citing scheduling conflicts. Meeting dates are set by the city and can change, so confirm on the North Salt Lake city website before you plan to attend.
