Clinton’s Halloween Walk Moves to the Civic Center Softball Complex Oct. 5, Plus Fall Events Ahead

Clinton’s fall event lineup is set, starting with a free Halloween Walk in a new location. Here is what Clinton City Recreation has posted on its special events page.

Halloween Walk: Monday, Oct. 5

The Halloween Walk moves this year to the Civic Center Softball Complex. The free, all-ages event lights up the park with pumpkins decorated by local elementary students. Costumes are encouraged, and candy is handed out through the evening while supplies last.

Want your own jack-o’-lantern on display? Drop it off at the Clinton City Recreation office by 4 p.m. on the day of the event. The city says any pumpkins left after the walk will be thrown away. The city has not yet posted a start time or event flyer, so check back before you go.

Local businesses can take part by handing out candy and promotional items. Vendor registration costs $20 and runs through Sept. 26, and no selling is allowed.

Turkey Trot and Turkey Bowl: Saturday, Nov. 14

• Turkey Trot: Choose a 5K or a 2-mile walk. The event starts at 9 a.m. sharp. Registration opened Sept. 22 and runs through Nov. 12 at $15 per participant. Pick up bibs Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Recreation Office.
• Turkey Bowl: Reserve a lane for up to six players at FatCats in Clinton for $40, shoe rental included. Time slots are 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required through Nov. 9, and lanes are limited. Bowl a turkey, win a turkey.

Blitzen Bash: Monday, Dec. 7

The free holiday event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clinton City Recreation, with live music, lights, hot chocolate, cookies, a kids’ craft, letters to the North Pole and photos with Santa. Vendor registration is open through Dec. 5 with a $50 deposit.
