This Week in Woods Cross: Special Council Meeting, Oct. 6 Council Session and Pumpkins in the Park Ahead (Sept. 28–Oct. 4)
It is a short but important week for Woods Cross residents, with a special City Council meeting on the calendar and a regular council meeting and a favorite fall family event close behind. Here is what the city has posted for Sept. 28 through Oct. 4, plus a quick look at what comes right after.
Special City Council meeting: Tuesday, Sept. 29
The city’s Agenda Center lists a special City Council meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m., with meeting materials posted in advance. Special meetings are called outside the council’s usual first-and-third-Tuesday rhythm, so if you follow city business, open the posted agenda to see exactly what the council is scheduled to consider. Items on an agenda are not decisions; outcomes are confirmed later in approved minutes.
Woods Cross council meetings are held at City Hall, 1555 South 800 West, and the city notes on its council agendas and minutes page that regular sessions are also available on Zoom, with connection details printed at the top of each agenda. Residents who cannot attend can email written comments to the City Recorder.
Next regular council meeting: Tuesday, Oct. 6
Regular City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. unless an agenda says otherwise, which puts the next regular session on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Agendas and full council packets are posted ahead of time on the city website and on the Utah Public Notice Website.
Coming up: Pumpkins in the Park, Oct. 10
Looking just past this week, the city’s community services report in the approved Aug. 18 council minutes lists Pumpkins in the Park for Saturday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mills Park. The same report lists a Veterans Dinner on Nov. 13 and Holiday Lights on Nov. 30, so it is a good time to mark the family calendar.
Why it matters
Special meetings can move quickly, and the agenda is the best way to know what is on the table before a vote. Checking it now gives you time to ask questions or send a comment.
