With no City Council meeting this week, the main civic event is Thursday’s Planning Commission, with four public hearings that touch everything from a new day care to backyard roosters. Here is what the city and the Davis County Library have posted for Nov. 2 through Nov. 8.

Meetings

No City Council meeting this week. The city canceled its regularly scheduled Nov. 3 meeting. The city calendar lists the next meeting for Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m.

Planning Commission, Thursday, Nov. 5. A work session starts at 6:30 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 160 S. Main St. The commission is scheduled to hold public hearings on:

  • An AP Overlay District, schematic site plan and development agreement for Mountain View Commons, a day care center and a future development pad on about 1.7 acres at 77 S. and 111 S. 650 West.
  • Updates to the city’s alcohol rules in Title 6 and Title 11 to match state terms and license types and to spell out where businesses that serve alcohol are allowed.
  • A change to the Animals and Fowl chapter that would restrict roosters on residential and small agricultural properties.
  • A change to lot coverage allowances for structures in agricultural zones.

Hearings are not decisions. The agenda says emailed comments on the hearings should go to crowe@farmington.utah.gov by 5 p.m. on Nov. 5, and a Zoom link to listen and comment is on the posted agenda. The city sets meeting dates and can change them. Agendas and meeting notices are linked on our Farmington page.
