Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride Returns July 31 — Register Now for a Full-Moon Ride Across Antelope Island
One of Davis County’s signature summer traditions is back. The annual Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride rolls out Friday, July 31, 2026 — a non-competitive, roughly 24-mile night ride across Antelope Island State Park under the glow of the summer full moon. It is a bucket-list ride for a lot of Davis County families, and registration for this year is open.
The ride
Check-in and the pre-ride party begin at 7 p.m., and the ride itself starts at 10 p.m. The route runs from the White Rock Bay and marina area out toward the historic Fielding Garr Ranch and back — about 24 miles round trip. It is non-competitive and family-friendly, so riders can go at their own pace and soak in the rare experience of the island after dark.
What every rider must bring
Safety gear is required, with no exceptions: every participant must have a helmet, a headlight and a tail light. The island’s causeway and roads are dark, so lights front and back are essential for being seen and seeing where you are going.
More than a bike ride
The night includes costume and bike-decoration contests — categories typically include best costume, best family costume and best decorated bike — along with vendor booths, food trucks and prizes. Decorating your bike with lights is half the fun and doubles as extra visibility.
How to register
Registration is handled through Davis County. Sign up by July 29 at 11:59 p.m. to ride, and register before July 10 if you want your T-shirt size guaranteed. You can find registration and full event details on the official Antelope by Moonlight page. The ride also appears on our Davis County events calendar, and you can learn more about the gateway community in our Syracuse city guide.
One heads-up for 2026: Stage 2 fire restrictions are in effect on state lands, including Antelope Island — no open flames or fireworks. See our report on Utah’s Stage 2 fire restrictions. Event dates, times and fees are set by the organizers and can change; confirm details on the official page before you go.
