This Week in Centerville: Green Steel Tank Site Visit, Fee and Construction Hearings Scheduled (Sept. 28–Oct. 4)
Centerville’s calendar for Sept. 28 through Oct. 4 is short, but it includes a City Council visit to the city’s new water tank project and the posting of two public hearings that residents can weigh in on in early October. Here is what the city has scheduled.
Tuesday, Sept. 29: Council site visit to the Green Steel Tank
The City Council is scheduled to tour the Green Steel Tank site with U.S. Rep. Celeste Maloy at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, according to the city’s meeting listing. Council members will meet at City Hall and travel to the site together. The city notes that no vote or action will be taken during the visit.
Tuesday, Sept. 29: Whitaker Museum Board
The Whitaker Museum Board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. the same day. Agendas for city boards are posted on the city’s CivicClerk agenda portal.
Two public hearings on the way
On Sept. 25, the city posted notices for two upcoming public hearings. These are scheduled items only; no decision has been made on either.
- Fee schedule amendment, Tuesday, Oct. 6, 7 p.m. The City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on proposed changes to Section 20.030 of the Centerville Fee Schedule, which covers boundary adjustments. (Notice)
- Construction details and drawings amendment, Wednesday, Oct. 14, 7 p.m. The Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to the city’s construction details and drawings. (Notice)
Both hearings are at City Hall, 250 N. Main St. Questions can go to Centerville Community Development at 801-292-8232. The council also has a work session listed at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, ahead of its 7 p.m. meeting.
