Davis School District’s Dan Linford Named Utah Superintendent of the Year

The leader of Davis County’s public schools is being recognized statewide. Dr. Dan Linford, superintendent of the Davis School District, has been named Utah Superintendent of the Year by the Utah School Superintendents Association.

Linford has led the district since 2022, when he was sworn in as its 19th superintendent. The Davis School District is one of the largest in the state, serving close to 70,000 students across roughly 94 schools in communities from North Salt Lake and Bountiful up through Layton, Clearfield and Syracuse, with about 15,000 employees.

The statewide honor is chosen by superintendents from across Utah’s school districts. It caps a stretch in which the district has collected dozens of Best of State education awards.
