This Week in West Point: Fall Festival, Chalk Art, City Council (Oct 9–22)
West Point’s fall calendar fills up this weekend with the city’s Fall Festival and a chalk art event at Loy F. Blake Park, followed by a City Council meeting on Oct. 20. Here is what the city has posted for Oct. 9–22.
On the calendar
- Fri., Oct. 9, 6:30–8 p.m.: WPAC Floral Arrangement Class at City Hall, part of the West Point Arts Council’s programming. Details are on the city calendar.
- Sat., Oct. 10, noon–4 p.m.: West Point City Fall Festival at Loy F. Blake Park, 3500 W. 550 N.
- Sat., Oct. 10, 8 a.m.–2 p.m.: West Point Chalk Art Festival, running alongside the Fall Festival with a fall and Halloween theme. Chalk squares are $10 each and include a 24-pack of pastel chalk; sign-up is through the Arts Council page on the city website.
- Wed., Oct. 14, 8–9 p.m.: WPAC Christmas Carolers practice (the city also lists a second practice on Wed., Oct. 21 at 8 p.m.). Check the city calendar for the location.
- Tue., Oct. 20, 11:30 a.m.: Senior Luncheon. The city’s calendar entry has the details.
Meetings
The City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20. The city says its administrative session begins at 6 p.m. and the general session at 7 p.m., subject to change. The Planning Commission is scheduled to meet Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. at City Hall, with a work session first. Agendas and meeting notices are linked on our West Point page.
