DESCRIPTION:The 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States of America offers an opportunity to reflect on a history shaped by challenge\, change\, and resilience\, and on a future that continues to unfold.  The Davis Arts Council’s 250 and Counting exhibition asks artists to approach this milestone not only through theme\, but through artistic process.\nArtists are invited to create a work consisting of 250 or more intentional actions – marks\, strokes\, stitches\, knots\, lines\, cuts\, or other repeated gestures. DESCRIPTION:The Heritage Museum of Layton proudly presents Pioneer Jubilee 2026\, a fun event for visitors of all ages featuring games\, crafts\, a chalk art festival\, and tours of the Joseph Hill Pioneer cabin. Games will include washing handkerchiefs\, the game of graces\, hoop and stick\, ring toss\, and more. There will be an America250 related craft and a Pioneer themed craft. Tours of the 1851 Joseph Hill cabin will also be available free of charge. The event will also include a chalk art festival. Participants in the chalk art festival are required to register in advance so we know how many spots we need to prepare\, but participation is free. For those who don’t want to formally participate in the chalk art festival\, there will also be a designated area for additional art to be added by attendees. Come celebrate the pioneers practicing faith in crossing the plains to enter the Salt Lake Valley on July 24th 1847 AND the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence securing our freedoms in this free land\, the United State of America. We are so grateful!\nDates: Friday\, July 24th: park games\, entertainment and food 5pm-9:30pm (games end at 9pm\, food open until 9:30pm)\n8pm Concert in the Bountiful City Park: Jenny Oaks Baker and family performing “American Mosaic”\n9am Saturday\, July 25th: 9am Handcart Day Parade\, the 2nd largest parade in Utah!
